Psychosocial aspects of pathological gambling
TRHLÍKOVÁ, Andrea
This bachelor thesis focuses on the psychosocial aspects of pathological gambling and examines the factors that can lead to this addiction; and thus its impact on the psychological and social spheres. The theoretical part describes the different classifications of addiction, gambling, pathological gambling including etiology, consequences of pathological gambling, treatment, prevention along with relapse and social work with pathological gamblers. In the practical part, a qualitative research strategy was used which included semi-structured interviews and content analysis of the data. The research showed that the factors leading to pathological gambling were many and it was not possible to pinpoint which factor caused the addiction, however, there were factors that kept recurring. Pathological gambling has a negative impact on the whole social sphere, such as family, partner and friendship relationships, employment, financial situation and hobbies. Similarly, pathological gambling has a negative impact on the psychosomatic state. Regarding the motivation of pathological gamblers to address their addiction or to enter treatment, research has shown that pathological gamblers are often unable to address their situation themselves and need external motivation and support to find solutions, as they initially downplay the situation and do not address it. However, external factors lead them to consider the behaviour and in the end they are internally motivated and actively address the seriousness of their situation. Research has also revealed some lesser-known phenomena that co-occur with gambling addiction, namely gambling delusions, attentional selection and the fact that the amounts wagered during relapse are much higher than before abstinence. The bachelor's thesis may represent a resource for extending and improving social work with pathological gamblers. This research can also serve as information material for the general public and provide a basis for further studies in this area.
Psychosocial aspects of Chronic Coloproctological Diseases from the Point of Coordinated Rehabilitation.
SÝKOROVÁ, Michaela
The topic of the submitted diploma thesis is Psychosocial aspects of chronic coloproctological diseases from the point of view of coordinated rehabilitation. The diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The first part describes the current state of psychosocial aspects of chronic coloproctological diseases in terms of coordinated rehabilitation in general contexts and related topics (basic concepts including health, illness, chronic diseases, human needs, quality of life and the possibility of measuring it). The main chapter describes chronic diseases and the possibilities of medical, nursing and psychosocial care, including coordinated rehabilitation. The practical part presents the methods and results of my research. The aim of the work was to find out the psychosocial aspects of chronic coloproctological disease and to find out and describe the quality of life of patients with this disease and the possibilities of influencing it by coordinated rehabilitation. To obtain the data, I used qualitative research using the method of questioning and semi-structured interview for data collection. Using a method of deliberate sampling, I created a group consisting of 9 patients, 6 health professionals and 3 social workers who are linked to chronic coloproctological disease. The results of the research were divided into three sections describing areas of psychosocial needs, limitations and strategies for the management of chronic coloproctological disease including coordinated rehabilitation. Chronic coloproctological disease has broad psychosocial impacts, which not only affect the patient and his or her experience, but also affect his or her family and other interpersonal relationships, hence affect significantly the QOL as a such. Coordinated rehabilitation is not used in the care of these patients, only particular components of this process are applied separately. However, the results of my research show that in coordinated rehabilitation, there is great potential for improving the care of patients with such severe diseases. The results of my work can be utilized as feedback for health professionals and social workers providing care to the patients with chronic coloproctological disease.

Title: Psychosocial aspects of intrapartum and postpartum care Author: Mgr. Lea Takács Department: Department of Psychology Supervisor: PhDr. Simona Hoskovcová, Ph.D. Consultant: MUDr. PhDr. Pavel Čepický, CSc. Abstract Background: Satisfaction with perinatal care is largely a result of psychosocial aspects of the care provided. However, despite a considerable body of research, the concept of satisfaction with perinatal care is not sufficiently defined and understood, being often confused with other concepts, particularly with that of satisfaction with childbirth experience. The lack of knowledge concerns especially the psychosocial dimensions and determinants of the care, most importantly for different groups of women, and the level of importance of psychosocial factors for satisfaction compared to biomedical variables. Objective: The aim of the present dissertation is to contribute to the theory of satisfaction by investigating the psychosocial and biomedical factors that affect satisfaction with perinatal care and satisfaction with childbirth experience in different groups of women depending on the mode of delivery (vaginal delivery, emergency caesarean section or elective caesarean section). Method: Ordinal logistic regression was used to identify the key predictors of satisfaction. The data were...

Strnadová, Dana ; Vránová, Hana (advisor) ; Šafářová, Marcela (referee)
The lymphedema is a chronic progressive disease connected with a great amount of complications of various severity. The secondary lymphedema occuring after a mamma ablation is one of the most frequent complication during the treatment of malign diseases of the mamma and it influences greatly the everyday activities of the patients. My intention was to describe the theme in its complexity and to depict the lymphedema in a bio- psycho- social context. The chapters of this work deal with the anatomy, physiology and patophysiology of the lymphatic system, the stages, complications and methods of assessing the lymphedema. Further chapters are addicted to possibilities of the treatment of the lymphedema. Emphasis is put on the physiotherapeutic methods, some of which are recently widely acknowledged and some of which are considered complementary, or there is still a necessity to verify their effectivity. I also described a pharmacological and surgery treatment of the lymphedema. In the work there are also mentioned psycho- social aspects of the secondary lymphedema. Keywords lymphatic system, secondary lymphedema after breast surgery, lymphedema therapy, physiotherapy, diagnostic, psychosocial aspects

Strnisková, Aneta ; Pavlíková, Pavla (advisor) ; Fanta, Michael (referee)
The work has theoretical and empirical character. The theoretical part deals with general introduction to the anatomy and development of female breast, here are shown some risk factors for breast cancer, its prevention, symptoms and current possibilities of diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. The last chapter deals with the after treatment care and psychosocial aspects. The goal of the empirical part is to uncover the awareness of women about breast cancer issues and how women follow the prevention of breast cancer. To accomplish the research I used a quantitative questionnaire method. The sample consisted of 100 respondents. According to the research it is clear that most women believe that they are sufficiently informed about the issue of breast cancer, but only 15% of the respondents correctly identified the symptoms of breast cancer, 31% of women surveyed knew the basic preventive examinations in this disease. The research also shows that more than 50% of the women perform self-examination of the breasts and more than 90% of the respondents had visited their gynecologist. Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer affecting women in the Czech Republic, and women should be informed on this issue as much as possible. The sooner the disease is caught, the more favorable is prognoz. Keywords:...
